Q. Should I wait until my carpet and upholstery shows soiling before I have it cleaned and how often should I have them cleaned?
A. All residential carpet should be professionally cleaned a minimum of every 8 to 12 months. Allowing dry soils to build up in the carpet pile scars pile fiber allowing it to take on a dull, dirty hue. This permanent fiber damage will give the impression of soiling even after carpet
Q. Will vacuuming regularly damage my carpet?
A. No. Regular vacuuming is an important part of complete carpet maintenance. Vacuuming will help to remove dry soil particles that can dull fibers and cause matting to occur. Fact is that 80% of the soil in your carpet is of the loose, insoluble type.
Q. Will your equipment scratch my floors, walls or baseboards?
A. No. We take special care and precautions to make certain nothing is damaged while we're in your home. Floors and white painted trim are no problem. We take great pride in our work.
Q. Why does my carpet look so dingy after having it steam cleaned?
A. Hot water extraction machines often bring grime, build-up, and dirt from the carpet padding to the surface of your carpet. When the water dries, dirt not picked up by steam cleaners can dry on the surface of your carpets leaving them dull and dingy. This can also be the result of dirty pumps from the steam cleaner that leave behind dirt and detergent.
Q. Can a carpet cleaner properly clean my carpet for $39.95? And
A. Probably not! Cleaning chemicals play a crucial role in carpet cleaning effectiveness and detergent residues left behind. Less expensive chemical formulations leave large amounts of residue behind that may cause rapid resoiling or oxidation of the fiber. Additionally, most carpet cleaning related problems are related to technician error. An unbelievably low price could be a questionable sign.
